Helllllooooo, Monday!
Back to the grind this week after a fun and family packed weekend of adventures. My NY family in town combined with a baby shower, a fun Saturday night out, one of the hardest spin classes of my life and the traditional Sunday family dinner made for a lot of excitement and unfortunately, some yawns today. I imagine the “Spring Forward” daylight savings time thing has something to do with the yawns too! Fortunately, the sun is shining, it’s a steamy 50 degrees today and I’m ready to tackle this week head on!
In the meantime, here are some glimpses into the weekend fun:
It was a “Build-A-Library” baby shower brunch bonanza! The menu included-
- Blueberry lemon loaf
- Yogurt parfait bar – with homemade granola, fruit, honey, etc.
- Coffee-cake muffins
- Bagels with cream cheese, tomatoes, capers and lox (smoked salmon)
- Spinach prosciutto & fontina quiche
- Honey-Baked ham and bacon
- Mimosa bar
The mimosa bar was a hit! 1/3 fresh squeezed juice, 2/3 crisp prosecco… DO IT!
I took advantage of our second floor railing to hang some ridiculously easy paper poufs!
Baby O is a very lucky little boy! He’s got some fabulous family and friends anxiously awaiting his arrival.
Every baby shower needs a mascot.
For this baby shower, guests gifted books in lieu of cards, with an especially cute book plate inside designed to look like a library card. Baby O will be reading sweet messages for many years to come.
Couldn’t help but post this… it just makes me laugh. The scene: Sunday Brunch at Deagan’s Kitchen & Bar. My baby girl bellied her way up to the bar, ordered herself some apple juice and made herself at home. She IS 3 years old now, after all…
Hope your week gets off to a great start!
XOXO,
Stella
I love what you did for the baby shower! Do you have a website or link for the paper poufs? I am throwing a baby shower in a few weeks and would love to make those😊. Thanks Stella!

Hi Laura!
First off, thanks for reading! Second, those poufs are beyond easy whether you choose to make them yourself, or purchase the kit (as I did this time around).
If you’re going the DIY route, here are the step by step instructions I’ve used recently: http://blog.exclusivelyweddings.com/2012/04/22/how-to-make-tissue-paper-pom-poms/
If you decide to go the retail route, I’ve purchased the assembly kits for about $5 (they were 3 poufs to a pack) at Pat Catan’s (the local craft store). A bunch of retailers sell them online:

Hope that helps! Good luck with the shower 🙂
XOXO, Stella
